Matthew breaks in the middle of his narrative to acknowledge the prophet Isaiah and the fulfillment of the prophecy in chapter 42. Jesus came to bring spiritual victory to the Gentiles. He came to redeem the outcasts and give hope to all the nations. We are also reminded that the death of Jesus would not happen until God's appointed time.
