There are all kinds of opinions as to why Jesus spoke in parables. Some believe it was to hold peoples attention, others say it was to make His sermons more interesting or more understandable. Jesus puts it plain to the people in Matthew 13: To reveal, conceal, and fulfill. He speaks so some will understand, others will not, and to fulfill what the prophet Isaiah spoke about God hardening hearts and opening eyes.
