This helps us to accurately understand scripture by using context, original languages, historical background, and comparison to other scripture. Scripture is interpreted by scripture and not by man’s intellect, emotions, or cultural trends. The Holy Spirit reveals truth from scripture that can never be seen or understood otherwise. God’s word is authoritative and sufficient. We are committed to preaching a text and not simply giving an anecdote.
