Adopting The Shaikh
Did you know that there are around 6,700 tribes or people groups that have never heard the name of Jesus Christ? Recently I discovered one of these groups located in India. May the renown of our God shine on this people, and may they come to know our Great God! Our church has recently “adopted” the Shaikh people of Jaipur, India. Will you begin to pray regularly and fervently that the light of the gospel would break through the darkness and save them through Jesus Christ. The Shaikh (pronounced shake) people are scattered all over India, but in the specific region of Jaipur they are completely isolated from the gospel. Click on the picture for more info.
The Shaikh (Dhundari) of India have a population of 439,907. They are part of the Bengali people cluster. The global population of this people group is 225,311,896. Their primary language is Dhundari. The primary religion practiced by the Shaikh (Dhundari) is Islam, a monotheistic religion built around the teachings of the Qur'an and of the prophet Muhammad. They currently have no known no evangelical Christians or churches among this people group and there is no access to evangelical print, audio, visual, broadcast, or human resources.
We are specifically praying that our God will send His people to proclaim Jesus, no matter the cost. We are asking God to make dead hearts that are full of deceit and unbelief to come alive to know Him and His glory, and we are praying that somehow God will use the prayers, the giving, and the going, of the people of PVBC to assist planting a church there someday. The more you study these people, the more you’ll know about them, and hopefully God will cause your heart to yearn for them, that they might know His truth and be saved! Fasten your seat belts, our God is about to do great things for us to behold.
